Three tall cabinets turn one end of the kitchen into a wall of storage, with the oven at a height your back will thank you for.

## Why go tall

A tall cabinet stores far more per square metre of floor than a base and a wall cabinet together. Tall wall starts with three of them side by side: a pantry with five shelves, an oven housing and a fridge housing. Together they make a quiet, flush wall that hides most of what a kitchen holds.

## The oven where you can see it

The oven housing holds a built-in 71 litre oven at eye height. You can check on dinner without bending down, and lifting a heavy dish out is much safer. The oven's pyrolytic cleaning burns spills to ash, so the inside stays clean without scrubbing.

## A fridge you do not see

The fridge housing hides a fridge-freezer behind fronts that match the rest of the kitchen. From the room, it reads as just another cabinet. Next to it, the pantry takes dry food, tins and the things you buy in bulk, close to where you unpack the shopping.

## Dark fronts, warm metal

Coal is close to black, but not quite: it keeps a little warmth that pure black lacks, and the framed profile gives each door a soft line of light along its edge. Brass bar handles make the most of that. They are long enough to grab without looking and warm enough to stop a dark wall from feeling severe.

## Coal, brass and marble

After the tall units, the run continues with a drawer base, the sink and an 80 cm base cabinet under a window. The fronts are the framed shaker profile in Coal, nearly black, with brushed brass bar handles and a brass tap for warmth. The honed marble worktop and steel sink bring light back into the room. Dark fronts love daylight, so the window placement here is part of the design.
